Folding Cartons: selection and sample review

Match the opening to the filling process

For retail cartons, sleeves or window packs, describe the product orientation and how it is loaded. Review tuck panels, base closure and insert space with the assembled pack before placing artwork.

Review windows, sleeves and surface choices

Mark the viewing area or tray-and-sleeve overlap on a reference. Board, crease positions, window material and any decorative finish need review together so the proposed design can fold and open as intended.

Separate fit review from artwork approval

Try an assembled structural sample with the actual product to check closure and sleeve movement. A print or finish proof serves a different purpose; agree which sample stages, costs and approval points your quotation includes.

Folding Cartons: what to include in your enquiry

Use these points to describe your requirements. For undecided details, write Not sure / Need recommendation and share the intended use or a reference photo to start the discussion. Specifications, materials and finishes are confirmed after project review.

Product fit and opening
Share product dimensions, desired opening, filling method and any insert needed.
Window or sleeve layout
Include a reference for visibility, tray-and-sleeve fit and artwork placement where relevant.

Send a preferred material or sample, if available. Board grade, coating and finish are confirmed after reviewing the intended use.
Printing and artwork
Share your logo or artwork, print areas, colours and finish reference. Feasibility is checked with the selected construction.
Quantity and delivery
Include the requested quantity, packing needs, destination and target date. MOQ, price, sample fees, sampling arrangements and actual lead time are confirmed in the quotation.

From brief to sample and quotation

  1. Share what you know

Start with the intended use, product dimensions or a reference photo, quantity and destination where known. For undecided material, structure or finish, write Not sure / Need recommendation and describe the result you need.

  2. Agree the sample and review points

A structural sample checks fit and handling; artwork or finish proofs check presentation. Agree the required sample type, material, review criteria, sample fees and timing before arranging that stage.

  3. Confirm the quotation scope

Confirm the selected specification, artwork status, quantity, delivery destination and packing form. MOQ, price and actual lead time remain subject to the quotation; flag any required contact-use documentation or testing for separate review.

Selection and quotation FAQs

Do window and tray-and-sleeve cartons need separate enquiries?

They can be reviewed within a folding-carton brief. Include the product fit and a reference structure so the suitable construction can be confirmed.

Can a window be added to an existing carton drawing?

Submit the drawing and mark the desired viewing area. The remaining panel, folds, window attachment and product contact need review before the revised structure and price can be confirmed.

Are the dimensions and MOQ fixed?

These pages describe packaging types for project review. Send the dimensions and quantity you need; final specifications and MOQ are confirmed in the quotation.
