Paper Bag Structure Guide
Use a concise structure checklist to align bag size, handle type, carry load and retail presentation needs.
Start with the real contents, their shape and the way the bag will be carried. Compare the complete bag, including its base and handle attachments, rather than selecting by paper weight alone.
Label dimensions and the intended contents
Provide the heaviest intended product combination, total weight with units, base footprint, concentrated contact points, sharp corners and any moisture exposure. Label width, gusset and height on a sketch and say whether the measurements describe the usable inside space.
Record how the contents are loaded, lifted and set down, whether several containers are carried together and which faces need printing. Keep this brief with each sample so alternatives are compared at the same load and handling scope.
Compare the base and handle attachment together
Ask the producer to identify the paper, base folds, adhesive areas, handle construction and any reinforcement. A twisted-paper, flat-paper or cord-handle name does not establish the strength of its attachment or the complete bag.
Include artwork coverage, packing quantity and whether bags are delivered flat in the quotation. Confirm availability and project terms for each proposed construction instead of assuming a reference bag is stocked.
Agree an evaluation of the complete bag
Use a representative finished bag and the intended contents. Agree the lifting and setting-down sequence, observations and acceptance conditions with the supplier, then retain the approved sample and record.
Paper weight alone is not a carrying-load rating. The industry reference below discusses whole-bag durability; its examples are not tested ratings for your proposed Kehong bag.

- Can a heavier paper guarantee a stronger bag?
- Evaluate the complete combination of paper, folds, adhesive, base, handle attachment and contents. Ask for a relevant rating or an agreed evaluation rather than inferring load capacity from gsm.
- What should I send before the structure is final?
- A product photo, approximate bag dimensions, intended combination and carrying conditions are enough to start a discussion. Mark uncertain details as “Need recommendation”.
